Explore the 14th century Castle of the Knights, which overlooks the harbour. Roam the ancient streets in the old quarter of Kos Town, once home to Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. Discover the island\'s picturesque mountain hamlet of Agios Dimitrios. Explore the Dodecanese islands with a boat trip to nearby Kalymnos, home of the famous sponge fishermen.

Island Tour Friday € 40,00

On this tour you will discover ancient history, mythology and culture of the island. At the famous archaeological site of the Asclepion, also called the first Hospital in the world, you will learn about the father of medicine, Hippocrates and the history of the site. The picturesque villages of Zia on the slopes of mount Dikaios and Kefalos in the southwest will be visited as well. On the way down from Zia you will make a short stop at a local winery. An old windmill and the Traditional House in Antimachia are also part of the program. The bus takes you on the mountain road from Pyli to Kardamena with the opportunity to take panoramic photos. A day to discover the beauty of Kos island.

Turkey/Bodrum € 40,00

Within about one hour the boat from Kos harbour takes you a completely different world full of oriental culture and tastes. On a guided bus tour you will also visit the picturesque windmills with a stunning view of Bodrum. Back in town you are free to stroll around the local shopping centre and visit the fortress of St. Peter, situated on the harbour, with lots of artefacts found in the sea.

Kalymnos/Pserimos Sunday € 39,00

A day to relax on a wooden so called Kaiki, with a lot of time for swimming and sunbathing. First stop is the uninhabited island of Plati, where the kaiki drops anchor in the clear water. Its a good place for snorkelling and swimming from the boat. At Kalymnos, the third biggest island of theDodecanese, you can visit a small sponge shop where you learn of the importance of sponge diving in Kalymnos. Lunch will be served in a local tavern. Last stop on the way back to Kos is the sandy beach of Pserimos for another swim.

Join the beach lovers on Kos\'s idyllic sands: With beachfront bars and restaurants and silver sands filled with bronzing bodies, Kardamena is a fun-filled spot or, if you?re looking for a long stretch of golden sand, Tingaki?s beach is the place; with its shallow water, it?s perfect for swimming.Windsurfers on holiday in Kos should head to Marmari Beach, with its fantastic waves and clear blue water.

Aegean Cruise

A boat trip with a difference, you\'ll hop aboard a traditional Caique to cruise the Aegean Sea, docking at some of the most beautiful of the Dodecanese Islands for a spot of swimming and snorkelling.

Greek Night

Giving you the chance to learn some Zorba-style dance moves, you\'ll escape to the mountain village of Zia before heading off for a fun night of traditional Greek food, wine and dance.

Food and drink

Whether you want to dine in a traditional ouzeri, eat in an inviting fish taverna or go out for pizza, Chinese or Indian, there?s every type of restaurant you can think of in Kos Town and Kardamena.

If seafood?s more your thing, dine out on the cayenne pepper and paprika-spiced fish dish, Burdeta, or, for something really special, enjoy Astakos: soft, sweet lobster.

Other must-tries for your Kos holiday are pickled baby tomatoes, courgette flowers stuffed with rice and, for dessert, sticky honey pastries.

Night Out

Kardamena?s the best place for party animals: start your evening in its waterfront cocktail lounges, and then move on to the resort?s late-night dance bars and cheesy clubs.

Kos Town also has lots going on for night owls, teeming with bars, clubs and restaurants. You can relax with a few drinks by the harbour or head to the bar streets of Diakon and Nafklirou.

Quieter evenings out are also easy to find in Kefalos, Psalidi or Tingaki, with leisurely dinners in traditional tavernas and drinks in relaxed bars: heaven.

Shopping

Kos Town is gift shop city, with all the handmade jewellery, beautiful ceramics, rugs and goatskin bags you could possibly want. With shops hidden between the mix of ancient and modern architecture, it?s a delight to see where you?ll stumble across next. Like in other Greek islands, most Kos holiday resorts have good selections of shops selling holiday clothes, jewellery and gifts.
