Tour Itinerary
Day 1 Welcome to Istanbul!
Arrival and meet up with your Solitair Guide and group at Ataturk International Airport and transfer by coach to your 4 star hotel in central Istanbul with introductions and familiarisation to Istanbul on route. Check-in at your hotel and start of your holiday with an icebreaker meeting for a get to know everyone opportunity. Your Guide will discuss the program with you and will be on hand to guide you throughout your Istanbul City Break. Enjoy the evening together at the hotel and maybe a stroll around the local area before a good night’s rest.
Day 2 Leisurely breakfast together before a full day of sightseeing and exploring the history and culture of magical Istanbul. Morning visit to Topakapi Palace once the residence of Sultans, with its museum of emeralds and jewels showing the opulence from a bygone age. Following a well deserved lunch break visit the nearby magnificent Ayasofya Orthodox Church later transformed to a mosque and most recently a museum showing elaborate ancient Byzantine Yerebatan Cisterns. The two great architectural achievements now stand next to each other in Istanbul’s main square where you will also visit The Blue Mosque one of the most beautiful mosques in the world and one of the very few to have six minarets and later onto the Hippodrome where chariots once raced and games of life and death where played.
Day 3 After breakfast today you will experience dazzling shops at the famous Grand Bazaar with its 4000 shops in a maze of streets selling everything from a pin to almost a camel! Bargaining is expected, so a practise run with your guide might be a good idea! Afternoon visit to the Egyptian Spice Bazaar to tantalise the senses , followed by a well deserved rest in a local cafe to share the stories of the day and notable historic points of interest throughout the tour.
Day 4 Breakfast together before departure home with fond farewells to your travelling companions.
